REI stores have all of the fitness and outdoor activity gear you could want. These stores specialize in camping, hiking, snow sports, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, climbing, running, cross training, and more. The prices are reasonable for the products they sell here. Keep in mind, if you are new to sporting equipment, you may be in for some "sticker shock". For example, what I mean by reasonable pricing is being able to get a pair of hiking boots for under $200 as opposed to paying $300. If you are already into one or more sports, then you already know how expensive the equipment can be and you'll see that REI does offer items with a pretty good range of prices. Also, they have a really great selection of items in each category. I found great selections in cycling shorts and rock climbing shoes as well as some hiking gear that I purchased. They have got a variety of bags: duffel, dry, mesh, etc. If you are looking for outdoor clothing from camping jackets and rain gear to running clothes, this is a good place to go.
REI also has an Outlet store online for all closeout items and discounted, discontinued items. There is also an REI lifetime membership available for $20 which will get you information about member only sales, special offers, discounts, and other benefits.
